Pierre Charpin
Son of the sculptor Mark Charpin, Pierre Charpin follows studies in the National School of the Fine arts of Bourges and acquires his Certificate of Plastic Expression in 1984. From 1990, Pierre Charpin dedicates himself in most cases to the design of furniture and object. In 1993 and 1994, it stays in Milan in George Sowden studio (ex-membre du groupe de Memphis). Back in France it acquires one carte blanche of VIA (Promotion of The innovation in the Furniture). In 1998, Brunati edits armchair Slice and Charpin is invited by CIRVA (International Research centre on the glass and Plastic arts in Marseilles) to accomplish a series of objects in glass.
In 2000, it accomplishes in Vallauris a series of ceramics which are introduced in the museum of Vallauris and in the gallery Kreo. He follows his research work with Design Gallery Milano (series Stands and Oggetti Lenti) and the gallery Kreo (series Playtime and Platform). In parallel of his research work, Pierre Charpin works for the editors of design: Post Design, Zanotta, Montina, Venini and Alessi. In 2005, he is elected Créateur de l' Année of the Living room of the Piece of furniture of Paris. It teaches from 1998 till 2008 the College of higher education of art and design of Reims.
